Vintage Love

So I've been wanting to get a headboard for our bed. We've never had one. My bedroom has always been at the bottom of the totem pole as far as decorating goes. Even the kid's rooms have taken precedence over mine. Anyhow, I LOVE the headboard that belongs to Don and Betty Draper on Mad Men. Ben hates it. He says it's depressing and reminds him of something in his grandparents basement. What do you think?

It is so YOU. I think it fits perfectly with your style. I'll keep my eye out for one. Tell Ben that if you feel more like a woman in the bedroom, then he'll feel more like a man.

I think the headboard is totally cool. It's those window curtains that are scaring me!

I think it would be awsome in a green, brown or orange to match the art you have in your room. You could easily make one with plywood covered with batting and then staple the fabric to the back. Get the buttons made at a re-upholstery store. As soon as I am done with my couches I'll come help you... :)

It's beautiful, but having slept in Ben's grandparents' basement I can tell you, it looks exactly like something they'd have.

I think I love the headboard just because it's the Drapers. But not for any other reason.

I love it! It looks comfy and cute. I've never had a backboard, either. And our bedroom hasn't been decorated, either. I want one like this but with lower back support so I can sit up in bed to read, nurse, watch Hulu, etc, without slouching.
