Baby Eli

That's what we named our little boy. Eli means "ascended" in Hebrew, so we thought it was a good name for him. I delivered him on May 23rd. He was so tiny, 10 and 1/2 inches long and only 14 oz. Ben and I were both so surprised at how perfect he was. His little hands, feet, lips, ears all so tiny but completely developed and so perfect. The only thing wrong was that the umbilical cord was all twisted and knotted right at his little belly. I delivered Eli at a Catholic hospital here in Jackson and we opted to have him buried at an anonymous church somewhere in the countryside outside of Jackson. Mississippi will forever have a special place in my heart.

I am doing good- I really am. I am so grateful that I believe in eternal families. I'm so thankful for family and sweet friends who have kept us in their thoughts and prayers. I'm so blessed to be a mother to Maggie and Cash and Oscar. I'm so lucky to have a husband who has been right at my side through all of this. Thank you for all your comments, thoughts and prayers. They are appreciated.

Here is a picture of Eli's hand in mine. I hope it's not too somber to post this here. I just wanted to show how tiny he was. I was in my 21st week when he died- that's only half way through a pregnancy. Babies truly are little miracles.
