There is beauty all around...

A couple of weeks ago Ben and I decided that every weekend we are going to take the kids hiking somewhere along the Wasatch front. Force them to appreciate nature. Then it rained for two weeks in a row. But now that the weather is cooperating once again, we are excited to pack a lunch, slather on some sunscreen, and enjoy the beauty that the Wasatch Front has to offer. We've already done the Battle Creek Falls hike up near Pleasant Grove, and we're wanting to do Timpanogos Cave, Stewart Falls, Donut Falls (near Salt Lake), Devils Kitchen, Grotto Falls (near Payson), Timpanogos Falls, and Twin Lakes (up near Salt Lake). We have to keep the hikes pretty easy because Cash's legs are so short.

On Monday my good friend Olivia and I took our kids hiking up to Bridal Veil Falls (is it okay to call it a hike even though it's a paved path?... I think so). Once again I was awestruck by how gorgeous Provo Canyon is. It really can be breathtaking.

p.s. is anyone else craving Ikea's chocolate cake right now?

Ikea makes a chocolate cake? Then, yes. Yes I am.

I need to get out more. Your hiking, and enjoying nature is inspiring.

How come I didn't know Ikea has chocolate cake? I always used to get a brownie and an ice cream cone and eat them together. Yum!

Going on a hike sounds like a lot of fun! Hope the kids are enjoying it!

Timpanogos caves are a must. The hike is pretty easy; it's paved, too. Just make sure those kids go potty before you leave-- only one at the bottom and one at the caves.

Timpanogas caves easy!? hahaha. Maybe for adults but I have an exhausting memory of 3 adults trying to carry and coax 7 children down the mountain. The caves are amazing though, definitely worth it. Just plan on being exhausted when you are done! :)

I am inspired to follow in your footsteps, especially those that lead me to try this so called Ikea cake.

Great minds think alike! We might have to get together for one of our hikes one of these days.
