Patience is a Virtue

Hello BBF's (that's Best Blog Friends). So I'm home from my fabulous (too short) vacation, and trying to get my household up and running again. I'm also trying to get my boobs up and running again because as it turns out Oscar is allergic to formula (both cow's milk and soy). There goes my brilliant plan to wean my bambino while I was away for 10 days. I went to the Lactation Specialist's office and rented a dairy-grade milk pump. I think it's called the Bovine 5000.  About every two hours I lovingly feed my mechanical Dracula. Is the mental imagery more than you can handle? Anyways, I have lovely, tropical pictures from the trip and I will download a few, but it will take me a day or two.

Uh, Maggie just answered my phone and told the salesman that I was pumping. Egads.

What did he eat while you were gone? That sucks! I can't wait to see pics from the trip!

Maggie's face is perfect in that picture. "Uh, this is ok right!?"

That is too classic. Sounds like way too much fun you have been having since you've been home! Maggie is too cute. Poor Oscar, did he survive while you were gone?

Oscar was perfect while she was away! Eagerly drank his cow's milk bottle day after day. Too bad it doesn't agree with his skin. Grandma can relate, sweetheart. Hope you can find something that works.

You know, breastfeeding (and related) conversation seems so normal and perfectly appropriate. I wonder if other people get embarrassed by it. I wonder what the salesman thought. Maybe he has kids and didn't think anything of it.

I'm sorry to hear about Oscar's allergy. That sounds hideous. Is the pump working for you?

By the way

someone told me that eatting spinach helps you make more milk. they could have been lying though. it's still a good excuse for spinach smoothies though.
