i haven't been blogging very regularly lately, which probably has something to do with the fact that, i don't know, i'm moving in 3 weeks and trying to pack up my house while my husband is gone most of the time on business trips and i'm also trying to get ready for my sister and her family who are coming for a week long visit TONIGHT. whew! all that aside, i do feel a bit like a blog slacker. so i thought i'd sit down for a few minutes today while one of my kids is napping and the other is watching shrek and ponder on the fact that today i turn 28 years old. t minus 2 years to the big 3-0. here are some "interesting" facts about me that some of you may not know:
1. when covering leftovers with plastic wrap, i have to pull the plastic tight so it is smooth and doesn't have a SINGLE wrinkle
2. i hate dijon mustard
3. one of my favorite dinners is tator tot caserole
4. i've never seen any of the Rocky movies
5. i cry at the end of most disney cartoons
6. it is 12:15 and i'm still in my pj's, the breakfast dishes are still sitting around, and i just rubbed deodorant on so i didn't smell too badly of b.o. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!
so there you have it folks. some interesting factoids about me on my birthday. i hope i become more interesting by my next one.

To market, to market to buy a fat pig...
So the title of this post has nothing to do with what I'm about to write. It's just what came into my head when I clicked the "new post" link. In fact, I don't even know what I'm going to write about, but I felt it was high time to write something given the fact that I haven't updated in over 10 days and am going out of town. This "blogger's block" I've been experiencing probably has something to do with the fact that I broke my digital camera a couple weeks ago and have been unable to digitally document any of my life. And as my brother Jonathan clearly demonstrates, people in my family need photos to feed their blog thought streams. Because the thousand words the picture is already worth? Not enough.
p.s. as long I'm writing about nothing, did anyone happen to catch my husband and his brother in their AWESOME band The Quinn Brothers on KJZZ the last two nights? I'm gonna be the wife of that famous-in-Utah guy.
p.p.s. now to the market- I have a sudden craving for bacon

What a Trip
So, this last week I've been vacationing in Southern Cali (although can you really call it "vacation" when you're toting two kids along... you're pretty much still doing the same thing- that is, feeding, changing, clothing, burping, bathing children- you just have a different backdrop) anyways, I digress. I was in Southern California and wanted to post a few photos from the trip.
Cash and his cousin Scarlette:

We went to the beach where Maggie was able to get wonderfully covered in sand since dad wasn't there to freak out about every grain that got on her body. (For those of you who don't know, Ben is totally Sand-a-phobic. Let's all say it together, folks, "LAME!")

And since dad wasn't there to protect them, Cash's feeties got their first taste of beach sand as well.

He's addicted.
