Note to Self: Stop Complaining to Friends

So, here I am writing twice in one day, again, but I felt the need to given the responses to my previous post. Yes, Ben and I are moving back to Utah. In August. Ben got a teaching job in Draper. And I am MOSTLY excited to be moving back. Really, I am. I have lots more friends down there and it'll be sooooo nice to live near them again. Here's when I am sad to be leaving Jackson. When it is spring and the tulips are blooming and I can see the tip tops of the Tetons from my living room and I go for long walks with my babies on beautiful paths that line babbling brooks, and take 10 minute drives outside of town where I get to see huge herds of buffalo grazing and baby moose running along side their mothers and bald eagles sitting in their huge nests. I am sad to be leaving the beautiful scenery that I currently live amongst, but I can tell you that if we were making this move in the middle of winter, I would probably be saying I was ECSTATIC to be leaving this miserable snow-smothered place. See what a fair-weather liver I am? I only like a place when it's good weather and there are babbling brooks. And I'm not so sure Draper paints a very picture-esque vision in my mind. But we're planning on buying a house and that's very exciting to me, and I am so glad to be going back to the place I never really stopped thinking of as home (which is crazy because I thought I'd never think of Utah as home... but now it's as homey to me as Cali... weird). Anyways, Utah here we come! And Jackson, we'll be visiting... in the Spring, of course.

MUUUUUUUCH better, Kat. And congratulations to Ben. I am so excited for both of you. But, just so you know - Draper has become a much better place in the past few years. You'll have some fine dining and shopping establishments.

Here's a picture-esque vision of Draper for you.

Wow! Another move! I think you two probably qualify as nomads now. Hopefully this time you'll be able to keep your stuff out of boxes for a few years. When are you moving? We'll be in Utah in July.

Ok, so I read a little closer and saw that you already said you're moving in August. It doesn't help that I'm reading your blog with a toddler on my lap who is trying to shove Goodnight Gorilla into my hands. I guess it's story time.

HOLY BEST PLAY DATES EVER. Since Kim is in SLC (I think), and I am in Orem, we can meet at IKEA for shopping and lunch. We, um, I mean our kids, will LOVE it.

Hey Kat,
I recently moved to Utah as well. I live in Riverton (just next door) and my husband works in Draper. It would be fun to see you some time. Oh yes, and I'm way excited about the Ikea... I just wish the huge blue building wasn't such an eyesore.
