scenic drive

thismorning i threw the kiddos in the car & headed up the canyon for a drive... very impromptu, but fun (well, until maggie got a little bored in the backseat & decided to make her own scenery by drawing on the headrest in front of her with a pen... sigh). but let's let bygones be bygones, right? back to our drive:

one thing is for sure... if ben & i ever do leave utah (not that we're planning on it!) i will very much miss these mountains...

Note to Self: Stop Complaining to Friends

So, here I am writing twice in one day, again, but I felt the need to given the responses to my previous post. Yes, Ben and I are moving back to Utah. In August. Ben got a teaching job in Draper. And I am MOSTLY excited to be moving back. Really, I am. I have lots more friends down there and it'll be sooooo nice to live near them again. Here's when I am sad to be leaving Jackson. When it is spring and the tulips are blooming and I can see the tip tops of the Tetons from my living room and I go for long walks with my babies on beautiful paths that line babbling brooks, and take 10 minute drives outside of town where I get to see huge herds of buffalo grazing and baby moose running along side their mothers and bald eagles sitting in their huge nests. I am sad to be leaving the beautiful scenery that I currently live amongst, but I can tell you that if we were making this move in the middle of winter, I would probably be saying I was ECSTATIC to be leaving this miserable snow-smothered place. See what a fair-weather liver I am? I only like a place when it's good weather and there are babbling brooks. And I'm not so sure Draper paints a very picture-esque vision in my mind. But we're planning on buying a house and that's very exciting to me, and I am so glad to be going back to the place I never really stopped thinking of as home (which is crazy because I thought I'd never think of Utah as home... but now it's as homey to me as Cali... weird). Anyways, Utah here we come! And Jackson, we'll be visiting... in the Spring, of course.
