Also, I love Pumpkin Pie

The past few days have brought cooler weather here on the Wasatch Front. It's been so nice to open the windows at night and have a balmy breeze float through the house. We've also had a few rain showers that make the air smell all earthy and delicious. The Autumnal Equinox falls on September 22nd this year, and marks the official beginning of Fall in the northern hemisphere. I love this season. The colors, the smells, the food, the holidays, the clothes! There's something so nostalgically comforting about sweaters and scarves and stew. I always get excited and a little giddy when the weather starts to change at the end of summer. Perhaps it's leftover excitement from childhood when the fall meant a new year of scholastic opportunity (or perhaps more appropriately in my case: a new school wardrobe). Or maybe it's the first inklings of anticipation for the holidays that lie ahead. Maybe it's because I married my true love in the fall. Or because I look especially good in sweaters. Whatever the case may be, the past few days have breathed life back into my being. I am ready for the fall. (Except for the new fall wardrobe part... anyone know of some good sales?)

Until next year, summer.

Ah---a daughter after my own heart!! The autumn is my favorite, too!
What's a rose to a crimson colored leaf? But then, I was married in the spring and was surrounded by daffodils and violets....they're pretty good, too. But still, fall-time food is sooo rich and comforting. Springtime DOES have rhubarb pie, though....Oh, well---it's good every year has a both an autumn and a spring!

You never wear that dress to my house. I even made that lovely headdress to go along with it...but still, you show me no love.

Fall is my favorite as well...but this time around I've got three sick kids. Soon, my friend, we should spend some cool weather time on my swing while the children eat leaves.

Fall? Heck, I was singing Christmas songs the other day. You guys are so behind. And when are we going to draw names? Or are we doing that this year?

Fall is great. Remember, Sept 22 wear a scarf!

I'm right there with you -- OBVIOUSLY it has to be my favorite season! I even take the 1st day of Autumn off of work to celebrate. Erin, I love the scarf idea -- and Kathryn, as for the new wardrobe I think that's where my true love of the season started!!

Shut up, I hate you. I haven't got a fall in about five years now and Todd and I were just talking about how much we miss seasons. Seasons are pretty much non-existent in Vegas and Southern California. I'm now going to have to go sit on the beach tomorrow just to make myself feel better. Jerk.

Kat,
"Balmy" means pleasantly warm. Has the breeze BEEN pleasantly warm? OR pleasantly COOL? I need clarification.
