Summer of Skirts

I was going to complain some more about my swollen mouth and my lack of enjoyment when it comes to eating (I'm actually sick and tired of pudding and ice cream- can you believe it?) but instead, how about I show you a skirt I made out of some vintage bed sheets! I've decided that this is the Summer of Skirts as far as Maggie and I are concerned. We are going to wear skirts all summer long. And the funnest part of this little scheme? I plan on making most {all} of them. I have yet to make a single one for myself. Maybe that should be my next goal: skirt for self. I have several other vintage bed sheets- perhaps I'll make myself a skirt from those... think about it, clothes from bed sheets means you feel like you're lying in your cozy bed all day! Brilliant!

So cute! Make one for me too...oh wait, I don't think you'd have near enough fabric to cover the junk in my trunk. Sad.

love the skirt, and love the idea. i lived on a tropical island for 2 years in high school and had the same plan, to wear skirts all the time there is nothing like wearing skirts in the warm weather, perhaps i will do that again this year if i find some maternity skirts worth wearing that is.

Holy cow Kat...when are you going to reap the monetary benefits of your extreme craftiness/talent? You should open a store on etsy (sp?) and see how it goes.

Truly brilliant. I hope some of that brilliance rubs off on me this summer. I have on vintage (If Vintage means really old from my grandma's house) sheet ready to be made into a summer skirt... now I just need to learn how to use my stinkin' machine.

Pretty sure you are the most domestic woman ever. You can make me one. And Lucy. OR just teach me how to be domestic? IM impressed.

That is an adorable skirt. I hope Maggie knows how lucky she is to have such a crafty mamma.

Well, judging by this darn weather you'll have PLENTY of time to make those summer skirts for yourself. What a fun idea.

A summer of skirts...I love it! And I love all the trims/ribbons you always use. I actually started making a few skirt for Addie based on your apron skirt you posted awhile back, so cute!

It really is crazy who you run into in this blogosphere! That would be so fun do to a reunion. We have lived in 3 different wards since the 174th, and it is hard for me to keep straight where I've met people from! Jeff got his MBA in Ohio, and now we are back here in Utah. Yep, good ol Utah! And I love your skirts...I love sewing as well...aaaaand I think skirts are the bomb! (Especially when you are 9 months pregnant.)

You are so dang talented! I think I am coming to Utah in April to visit my family. We should meet over at Kim's house Friday the 17th so I can see both of your babies!
