so. as probably many of you already know, this little quinn baby residing in my womb has been breech and refusing to turn around the past few weeks. since this was the case i was scheduled for a c-section on monday the 11th. as you may be able to imagine, i was not particularly excited about being sliced into with a scalpel but of course was willing to do so for the sake of my child. ahh, a mother's love. anyhow, good news. GREAT news. today at my doctor's appointment, he said i was a good candidate for a procedure called "external cephalic version". pretty much i was admitted to the hospital this afternoon where they gave me some relaxing drugs and manually turned this little guy around by pushing on my belly. i was extremely nervous about this procedure, especially since one of the nurses at my doctor's office told me that on a pain scale of 1-10 the procedure was about a 12. this nurse, i believe, was an idiot. the i.v. inserted into my wrist hurt more than the most uncomfortable part of the procedure (which lasted a minute at most). anyways, point being my baby is all flipped around and in the proper position for a "mother nature-esque" birth.
merry christmas to me!

yay for modern medicine!! now its just a race to see which one of us can have the baby first! ready, set,....... go!
That's great news, Kat! You showed that kid who's boss.
Way to go Kat! What a relief! I mean your c-section scar would or interupted your nude career, not to mention those super low pants you love wearing.
I am very excited for you! I am jealous! I am probs the only one who digs childbirth. Good Luck!
HOORAY! So - are they still going to induce you, or are you just going to have to wait??!
now i get to play the waiting game... ben's convinced this guy's going to be born on christmas. i immediately hit him over the head for even mentioning such a horrible idea. i'm concentrating on his birthday being around the 9th or 10th. maybe i'll go buy a couple gallons of cod liver oil to get things moving.
p.s. sarah- the prodecure isn't necessarily what i'd call "modern" medicine. it's an old midwife's trick that's been used for hundreds of years. so yay midwives and their old-fashioned procedures!
Yeah for midwives!
ya. but its more modern than going in a tent and squatting on the floor. so ill stick with calling it "modern"
