stealing my thunder
well, last night my little sister called me to tell me her water broke. sarah's due date was dec. 30, mine is dec. 17. i'm only 9 days away from my day of glory, sarah is 22 days away. but no, she had to go and have her baby 22 days early. who does that? now i'm left to be reminded how long this pregnancy of mine is dragging on...
so now i'm going to steal sarah's thunder and post the schematics of her bebe. she was born at 6:10 this morning and weighed 6 lb 10 oz. her name is scarlett jane. and, apparently, she has her dad's toes (which is a bad thing in sarah's opinion). i'll have to leave the rest to sarah (ie pics, etc.) right now i have to go do jumping jacks on the trampoline.

totally flipped out...
so. as probably many of you already know, this little quinn baby residing in my womb has been breech and refusing to turn around the past few weeks. since this was the case i was scheduled for a c-section on monday the 11th. as you may be able to imagine, i was not particularly excited about being sliced into with a scalpel but of course was willing to do so for the sake of my child. ahh, a mother's love. anyhow, good news. GREAT news. today at my doctor's appointment, he said i was a good candidate for a procedure called "external cephalic version". pretty much i was admitted to the hospital this afternoon where they gave me some relaxing drugs and manually turned this little guy around by pushing on my belly. i was extremely nervous about this procedure, especially since one of the nurses at my doctor's office told me that on a pain scale of 1-10 the procedure was about a 12. this nurse, i believe, was an idiot. the i.v. inserted into my wrist hurt more than the most uncomfortable part of the procedure (which lasted a minute at most). anyways, point being my baby is all flipped around and in the proper position for a "mother nature-esque" birth.
merry christmas to me!
